    FIRE PROTECTION
The ingredients of SmartRoc surfacing material combine to provide a passive protection from fire. Its strong adhesion to metal makes it an excellent, simple and inexpensive fire-resisting covering to structural steel members eliminating the need for the normal 50 mm of reinforced concrete. Application is sped up with continuous spraying machines available today. Fire test on SmartRoc conforms to BS/UL standards. A complete list is available. The thickness of SmartRoc ranging from 6 mm to 70 mm is determined by the duration of fire protection required (fire rating), determined by the ratio of perimeter of exposed section to the cross-sectional area of the steel member (Hp/A) suitable for profile or box/solid protection is applied.
