Pyrok is an inorganic, asbestos free, vermiculite-based material, that can be applied, by spray or by trowel. It provides both a protective and a decorative finish. It is extremely stable and can be applied to virtually all building materials with excellent bonding.

Its unique chemical composition and physical characteristics enable it to exhibit a large number of properties which in turn make it highly suitable for a wide range of applications.

FIRE PROTECTION


The ingredients of Pyrok surfacing material combine to provide a passive protection from fire. Its superior adhesion to metal makes it an excellent, simple and inexpensive fire-resisting covering to structural steel members eliminating the need for the traditional 50 mm  thick concrete protection. Application is sped up with continuous spraying machines available today. Fire test on Pyrok conforms to BS, UL standards. The thickness of Pyrok ranging from 10 mm to 59 mm is determined by the duration of fire protection required (fire range), determined for the ratio of perimeter of exposed section to the cross-sectional area of the steel member (Hp/A) suitable for profile or box/solid protection.
